Who we are
Keystone Wildfire Crew began as a satellite support crew in 1984. In 1987, we took on the name Keystone Wildfire Crew. In 1995, we became incorporated. We are an all volunteer non-profit forest fire crew providing fire suppression, prevention and conservation in a rural and urban interface environment.
What we do
Under the jurisdiction of DCNR Bureau of Forestry our warden helps in the investigation of wildfires. We usually average of 5-15 fires per year. We also provide cooperative mutual aid fire suppression to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania Fire Companies and Forest Districts. We provide training for the development of Local, State and Federal Levels of Wild Land Fire Fighting. With this training we are educating ourselves and others in the suppression of wildfires.
Where we are
Keystone Wildfire Crew is based at Pine Fort Fire Base just outside of Rawlinsville, PA on Red Hill Road. You can see that this beautiful location puts us in the heart of Southern Lancaster County to offer timely support efforts to all volunteer fire companies surrounding us. We also have auxiliary training grounds off River Road.
